Canoeing!

Where we camped the night before we stareted. And the first and only time we were able to use the tent...

The canoe centre owner. He didn't seem to impressed with Harker using the terms Boat and Oar. Apparently its Canoe and Paddle.

Day 1 AM, and the beers start flowing.

I think we still had two oars, sorry paddles at this point, but it didn't last long.

Day one lunch, and half of us take reguge in a nearbypub to keep out of the rain. Our gloating was short lived, as when the rain eased, we discovered we'd parked our boat right in front of a drain overflow pipe - which considering the heavy rain was quite a mistake!...

Remains of the last canoe group?

I'd like to say this was the place where I enjoyed a great nights sleep in a real bed. Alas what with locking myself out of my room, I had actually spent a pretty mediocre night on John's floor.

Day 2 AM and ready to roll.

One of our frequent trips into the bushes on day 2.

Day two lunch.

It all gets a bit much for laffling.

Laffers is still chilling (in Sids tent).

We found a pub and had a hearty meal followed by a selection of local literature.

Every campsite needs a fire!

Day 3 lunch and Martin decides its time use a stick to eat a pot noodle made with river water. Alas no photos of that though.
